@evan Maybe it was an opportunity to inform us, here, below the 49th, without shouting. He was quite firm in his sentiments, but using American social media was a very polite act. At least it makes sense to me here in California. ♥️🇨🇦

I know it's easier to post on American social media services. But Canadians have been doing a lot of things that are harder just to support Canadian businesses and keep our dollars on this side of the border. Government can do things that are a little harder, too.

The UK's "over-reliance on foreign [tech] companies has become an urgent issue of national security as US foreign policy actions are creating geopolitical uncertainty.”

Our new report calls for the UK government to pursue Digital Sovereignty to protect its critical infrastructure.

The American president doesn't use the big American social networks for his announcements. Why is the Canadian prime minister using them?

I want to see our leaders do their part and post on Canadian social network services. Federation gives them reach to other countries, but keeps them rooted here.

But we need government to do its part. This video was shared on American social media network YouTube. Why? We have video networks at home. We have the CBC. We have government Web sites. This is a post by our government, for our citizens. It should be hosted here.

But here's the thing: Canadians have gone because we don't like being pushed around, and because we don't like being threatened. Prime Minister Carney applauds that effort. I applaud it too.

Are any of you taking Amtrak instead of a plane?

Traveling on an Amtrak train from Denver to Seattle produces up to 72% less greenhouse gas emissions than planes and up to 83% less than solo car trips.
