@evan bon voyage
@evan@cosocial.ca @tchambers @agenticweb @evan Evan, just checking a couple of potential technical issues:
1) I looked at this tags account just now and it only shows 1 follower (me), but you and Tim both mentioned you had followed it...
2) It didn't pull in my most recent post with this tag: https://mastodon.social/@ricmac/116522803377879897
@Sunny are they? That doesn't seem like an algorithm to me.
🇨🇦's #BillC22 is entering committee study this week - and we're hearing it may become law by end of the month.
We never say this: but this is the worst, most privacy-breaking bill we've seen. It MUST be stopped.
Speak up against it and read on to learn more:

@datum I say "mostly opt-in" because if someone else on your server follows a tag, the content it shares will show up on the Fediverse feed and hashtag feeds. So if you preferred the smaller slice, it will get broader without your input.
@datum hi! I missed your note earlier.
I've heard two sides to whether this is a real problem.
On one side, people get mad when they find out that following a hashtag on their Mastodon instance doesn't pull in all tagged content from the Fediverse. 🤷🏼♂️
On the other side, people say that they prefer the semi-random slice they get of a larger conversation on the hashtag.
tags.pub is mostly opt-in. You don't have to share content with it if you don't want, and you don't have to follow tags.
@sean it's actually a little better to use the relay.
@MrLee great to hear!
@coffee_nebula @MrLee good description!
