Yes, and I agree with those numbers. If Alto is limited to an already-served corridor, it will have limited GHG reduction.
But that was the wrong place to start.
If it started at the west coast going to Edmonton - longer, but fewer stations so ~ same cost - it would also be the East-West electricity corridor: two major infra for the price of 1.5.
And it would serve a market which is almost entirely air travel. And every province east would demand extensions.
